Admittedly this is a fantastic activity to do while on holiday as it is both exhilarating and a great way to see some more of the less accessible scenery. However doing this can be quite dangerous as you have o knowledge of the horses, the safety precautions of the centre and the standard of the staff, consequently having horse riding insurance is a pre requisite.
Other trips are specifically centred around horse riding. You go away for a week to learn or improve on your skills. These holidays are very popular in Ireland. On these you go to a dedicated riding school and you are matched up with an appropriate horse to your standard. It is an exciting and rigorous holiday that is good for your fitness as well as having the relaxing après ride elements too to relax.
However horse riding can be dangerous. When you involve an animal into any activity you are straight away throwing an unknown quantity in the mix. Although probably well trained you never know if the animal will get scared, spooked or just out of control and so you really should have specific horse riding insurance. If you are unlucky enough to get thrown from a horse you could suffer from cuts and bruises or something more serious like broken limbs, concussion or possibly even something more serious. If that was to happen it is very expensive to be rescued if you are along way form home.
