Everyone knows what a bungee jump is but not everyone has the guts to try one. Many of the bungee jumps around the world are in fantastic landscaped locations, either off bridges, high buildings or even cranes affording you a spectacular view for miles around. When you are committed to doing a bungee jump you are also allowing yourself to see some fantastic scenery around you.
However it can be dangerous that is why you need to have bungee jumping insurance in your cover. It is very easy to get swept up in the emotion and excitement of doing a jump with other people you are on holiday with or have met while travelling but you should make sure that you have adequate travel insurance to cover the activity. If a bungee jump were to go wrong the results could obviously be catastrophic. However in reality the risk of injury is normally confined to a few more obvious problems. If you are a novice jumper then often, due to a bad jumping posture, you might get a sore neck or shoulders or perhaps even a headache due to a possible whip lash effect when the cord snaps you back. This could cause some long term damage, although unlikely, which can be very expensive to treat over a period of time. Other possible side effects are nerve damage in the legs which can lead to palsy.
X1 Sports insurance has graded Bungee Jumping as a level 2 activity and always advises that you go to a reputable organiser with adequate safety facilities and back up as well as having bungee jumping insurance.
