Kite Surfing Insurance

Kite surfing is one of the fastest growing and up coming extreme sports that you can do now. It is very accessible to the public and definitely has the wow factor to all the people sitting on the beach. Most beach holiday destinations have at least one Kite Surfing school in the resort and so it is very easy to find yourself wanting to learn how to do it. Be warned though although Kite surfing schools will offer first aid you will generally need to get an ambulance to ferry you to hospital is treatment is needed and this can be expensive when abroad.

However, be warned Kite Surfing can be dangerous. You are working with the elements that can be unpredictable, the sea which can never be relied upon and also equipment that is difficult to control. It is advised that you should get lessons and tuition on how to use the equipment, learn how to read the currents and how to react in certain difficult situations. As a result of dealing with the natural elements and the potential risk involved Kite Surfing is a Grade 3 hazardous sport.

As with any sport that requires the use of equipment you should always make sure that it is in good condition. The new Kites and boards can be quite expensive and so you will benefit from the £1000 sports equipment cover that comes as standard with the travel insurance we offer. There have been many developments with the equipment that allow you to change the size of the kites depending on the wind strength, de power quickly if you get into trouble and added safety on the boards too.
