White water rafting - Grades (1-4) Insurance

White water rafting can be done in some of the most picturesque surroundings in the world; however it is readily available closer to home too in both Scotland and Wales as well as across Europe too. The grading system means that you know how severe the routes are going to be and also what to expect. This level of White water rafting insurance only allows you to paddle in rapids upto and including 1 to 4. If you are expecting to go in more powerful water then X1 Sports also offers White water rafting insurance upto level 6 as well.

Rafting is done in inflatable, but sturdy, boats with teams of about eight people on board. It is rough and exhausting but very rewarding and exhilarating. The more you put in to it the more you get pout of it. For those of you who are slightly nervous it is better to start small then get bigger the more confident you get. The risks however are very real with cuts and bruises often evident from brushing against rocks however there are more serious risks too.

The water itself is very fast flowing and can cause you to fall out of the boat. This can lead to knocks on the head, concussion, potential broken bones and at worst near death experiences given that you can be trapped under the water. If that happens then the repercussion and costs could be very high. It is also imperative that you have the right safety equipment and go with a reputable company with fully qualified staff. If you aren't sure then the advice is don't do it.

As a result of the risks associated with the sport X1 sports has graded its white water rafting insurance (grades 1-4) as a level 1 grade sport.
